Description

Eagle Harbor Solutions (EHS) is looking for a highly qualified, experienced and self-motivated Policy Writer to support EHS and our customer in the Fort Bragg, NC area.

The Policy Writer is responsible for collaborating with various members in the organization to develop, maintain, clarify and implement policies and procedures. This role provides comprehensive review and analysis of policies to ensure policies are in line with best practices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Development, administration, and implementation of policies, procedures, memoranda, and other written materials
  • Supporting and participating in projects that relate to changes in policy and procedures as well as training sessions on newly developed procedures.
  • Updating existing procedures to ensure that they follow agency policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Participate in and summarize interviews with key stakeholders
  • Draft policy memos, with a focus on summarizing research and policy information so it is understandable to a broad audience.
  • Provide Gap Analysis on current Policies and Procedures with recommendations on future state
  • Review and revise current policies and processes
  • Prepare reports, papers, statements, briefings and correspondence
 
Position Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • Working experience with Federal government preferred
  • Prior professional writing experience creating documents, papers, policies or procedures
  • Good organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas
  • Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Top Secret clearance preferred

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
