POSITION SUMMARY: The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences in the School of Natural and Health Sciences at Moravian College invites applications for the position of tenure track assistant/associate professor in the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Program.

Job responsibilities include: 1) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; 2) advising and mentoring students; 3) participating in Departmental initiatives, including curriculum development and service to the Department, College, and professional communities; 4) participating in departmental/program assessment; and, 5) engaging in an active research program in a related area of interest; which could foster student engagement. Area of interest is open and should complement the interests of current faculty.
DEPARTMENT, COLLEGE & FACILITIES: The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences houses an undergraduate program in Health Sciences (BS), graduate programs in Athletic Training (MSAT & DAT), Occupational Therapy (MSOT), Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) and is developing a Physical Therapy (DPT) graduate program. The vision for the Department is to develop collaborative, interprofessional programs within a single academic unit. By combining an entrepreneurial spirit and a unique curricular structure, students and faculty are able to engage with one another across disciplines in a truly interprofessional educational environment modeled toward best practices in the clinical setting. This collaborative environment is designed to foster student learning and engagement while avoiding the traditional discipline specific silos that impede learning.
Moravian College has developed new, state-of-the-art facilities to accommodate for the growing health sciences programs. We have recently completed renovation on the Sports Medicine Rehabilitation Center (Fall 2019) and in Fall 2017 opened the newly built Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Center for Health Sciences. Both buildings house cutting-edge technology for student education. Furthermore, Moravian College has developed a partnership with St. Luke's University Health Network, a nonprofit, regional, fully integrated, nationally recognized healthcare system providing services at more than 200 sites across Pennsylvania.
QUALIFICATIONS: An earned doctorate (PhD preferred) or equivalent research doctorate in speech-language pathology or related area is required. Candidates who are ABD are eligible to apply, and all requirements for the degree must be completed by August 2020. It is preferred that applicants hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence for Speech-Language Pathologists (CCC-SLP).
