Description

JOB SUMMARY

Safety, Reliability Engineer performs reliability engineering assignments in support of contracted programs Bid and Proposals and Internal Research and Development activities. Participates in activities to obtain new and follow-on business. Requires high degree of creative ability, engineering skill and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Apply Reliability and Maintainability (R & M) principals and techniques to support the development and production of aerospace electronic assemblies.
  • Develop R & M program plans, reliability analyses and predictions: Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA); Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
  • Develop System Safety Assessments (SSA), including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
  • Coordinate root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support operations, quality and Customer Repair and Return (CRR) with engineering troubleshooting of identified failure trend data.
  • Participate in design reviews and other presentations, including preparation of materials.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with internal and external customers to clarify and resolve R & M issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering and three years related experience are required.

Must have electronic LRU, circuit and component level FMEA, Fault Tree, and Reliability prediction experience.

Understanding of electronic circuitry.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering and up to eight years related experience.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible.
