EYP is looking for a Project Accountant to assist Project Directors and Project Managers (PD/PM) with the financial aspects of their projects, act as a liaison between Operations and Finance. Analyze and report on all aspects of all assigned projects, helping to determine potential opportunities or risks that are associated with each project. You will ensure that the company’s projects’ financial performance is correctly measured on a monthly basis and help to coach project directors/managers to understand the financial life cycle of their projects from the bidding process to conclusion.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Operation/Project Managers, and project related people, in the completion and/or revisions of budgets and work plans, ensuring supporting Client authorization/documentation is furnished before activating in Vision
  • Support Project Directors in driving the financial performance of projects
  • Conduct analysis and financial reviews of projects to determine opportunities and risks within a project
  • Monitor work plans for accuracy and comparison of actual to plan hours/$
  • Provide assignment of new project numbers
  • If needed open new regular projects with tasks/phases (using & creating templates when needed)
  • Enter required information into project info center and verify the Contract Value matches Vision Enter completed budget information, including reimbursable and direct expense budgets, into Deltek, ensure that proper baselines are created, saved and maintained
  • Obtain signed owner and client contracts from Project Directors for Finance filing
  • Obtain signed consultant contracts and file
  • Provide Deltek Vision project reports and project related finance support as requested by PD
  • Provide weekly/monthly labor detail reporting for PD’s
  • Invoice all projects on a monthly basis-- Send out draft invoices and monitor their progress with PDs
  • Maintain an understanding of project WIP balances and react accordingly
  • Report on Account Receivable status for projects to the PD and the Director of Finance and manage accounts receivable collection process for all projects assigned to you
  • Monitor and adjust posting of time/expenses to ensure phases on the project are correctly depicted
  • Prepare information for and participate in monthly Project Reviews
  • Act as an integrated, collaborative member of the Finance & Operations team
  • Complete project closeouts as needed
 
Position Requirements
  • Degree in Finance or Business Administration required with minimum 3 years experience or
  • 15 years Finance/ Accounting experience with more than half in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry
  • Requires comprehensive Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Must be able to successfully exercise independent judgment
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sense of urgency to deadlines
  • Must be detail oriented
  • High level of proficiency in Deltek Vision is a plus
