At Visiting Nurse, we do require our team to be part of the solution to the spread of COVID-19. We require our staff to be COVID vaccinated, to include the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the time of hire and be fully vaccinated within 30 days of their hire date or in accordance with the timelines established by the vaccine's manufacturer. For newly hired team members seeking either a medical or religious exemption from the vaccine requirement, they must submit a request which must be approved prior to their hire date.

Description

The Pediatric Clinical Care Specialist provides nursing care, emotional support and education to terminally ill patients and their families. Provides coordination of care with members of the interdisciplinary team, the patient's family and other health professionals to ensure that the patient and family are supported during the final stages of life. Demonstrates clinical expertise in nursing assessment and diagnosis, and advanced illness management in the pediatric population. Provides outreach to community partners and health care organizations about the Hospice Pediatric Program.

Position Requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.

Licensure/Certifications: Must have current licensure by the Georgia State Board of Nursing and valid CPR certification. Must possess a current valid Driver’s license.

Previous Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in pediatric care. Preference given to national certification CHPPN (Certified Hospice Pediatric and Palliative Nurse)

Knowledge/Training: A team player that can follow a system and protocol to achieve a common goal. Displays skill and confidence in communications with internal and external customers. Demonstrates sound judgment, decision-making and problem-solving skills Understands the physical, social and emotional needs of the terminally-ill pediatric patient and the family. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other funding source regulations as applied to hospice care services.
