Basic Job Function

Operates straight truck daily. Supervises job daily. Loads and unloads household goods shipments up to 11,000 lbs daily. Packs shipments. Inventories shipments. Maintains a good safety and claims record. Meets company standards for customer satisfaction. Operates straight truck in an efficient and profitable manner.

Strong work ethic and dedication to customer service to ensure customer satisfaction on every job. Quality service of utmost importance.

Significant Responsibilities and Essential Functions

1. Responsible for quality assurance and customer satisfaction on
every job done.

2. Supervises crew of two to five men daily.

3. Loads shipments.

4. Unloads shipments.

5. Packs and unpacks shipments.

6. Inventories shipments.

7. Completes all paperwork properly.


8. Must be able to lift and carry 50 - 100 lbs alone; up to 400 lbs in a
team carry.

9. Must be able to carry furniture up and down stairs.

10. Loads truck for density and safety.

11. Works office moves.

 

 
Position Requirements
  • Job requires physical strength and dexterity up to the levels described above. Performing the actual move is an integral part of the job. Physical must be passed in order to meet federal government regulations.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Six (6) months to 1 year household goods experience.
  • Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations: Pass DOT physical and drug screening. Virginia State Class B CDL. Good driving record. Must complete UVL Packer and Mover certification training.
  • Other Minimum Qualifications: Basic literacy and math skills. Good communication skills.
