Description

The TDT Payment Specialist will prioritize and coordinate the gathering and accurate reporting of time-sensitive real estate tax information within multi-state geographic regions. The TDT Tax Payment Specialist ensures accurate dates and information are maintained on LERETA's Agency Profile and Reporting Calendar systems. The TDT Payment Specialist will advise of unusual tax office circumstances or requirements that could endanger the timely reporting of current or prior year real estate tax information. This position will process property taxes for escrowed and/or non-escrowed loans in a timely and efficient manner, and ensure our LERETA LLC and Business Partners receive tax information timely, accurately, and in a qualitative manner.

Tax File Processing

  • Responsible for the analysis of outbound files.
  • Manages agency profile and calendar information that affects automated processing of outbound. files
  • Ensures accurate and timely exchange of information with tax agencies for the benefit of LERETAs Customers and their borrowers.

Bill Processing

  • Oversees and ensures all tax bills, correspondence, and C-Service/B-Service reports received are processed timely and efficiently to meet LERETA, LLC and Business Partner standards.
  • Keeps the team apprised of the constant changes in work procedures and policies.
  • Ensures that the company is able to meet mortgage lender's reporting dates by allowing for sufficient processing time to ensure disbursement from escrow account is completed by the disbursement due month.
  • Validates all tax bills received within the department are authenticated to ensure accuracy in transferring tax bill data to Lereta's AS 400 Mainframe.
  • Ensures timely response of inquiries from mortgage lenders, homeowners, and taxing agency jurisdictions by utilizing effective verbal and written communication in a prompt and accurate manner.
  • Verifies the imaging and indexing process of lender documents for accurate uploading to LERETA's WebXtender system.
  • Assists with the development of training materials and conducts training sessions with fellow team members, both Full-Time and Temporary Staff personnel.

Payment Processing

  • Ensures the teams are demonstrating professionalism in representing LERETA LLC to internal and external customers.
  • Ensures timely response of inquiries from mortgage lenders, homeowners, and taxing agency jurisdictions by utilizing effective verbal and written communication in a prompt and accurate manner.
  • Effectively communicates tax status information to Lereta's internal and external customers.

Quality Control

  • Performs Quality Assurance (QA) in work queues, Excel spreadsheets and other applicable formats.
  • Prepares production/statistical reports as applicable.
 
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 12-18 months experience as a Tax Disbursement Team Processor I or equivalent.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate to Advanced level in Microsoft Office 2007 Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access 97 applications, Core FTP, Windows Explorer, and file management knowledge is required. Must know how to use office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and scanners.
  • Experience in AS400.
  • Expertise in the processing of HOA 1, 4, 5 letter distribution to borrowers and taxing agency jurisdictions to assist mortgage lenders in obtaining receipt of property tax data with effort to reduce duplicate bill fees, loss of discount, and/or penalties and interest.
  • Experience in MSP, FiServ, and MortgageServ Servicing System.
