Primary Objective of Position

The Warehouse Associate I is responsible for performing a variety of warehouse functions such as stage, load, and unload finished product and raw materials. They are also responsible for receiving and delivering materials, equipment and supplies and stocking and maintaining warehouse inventory in accordance with cGMP, SOP and safety guidelines.

Major Duties/Responsibilities

· Perform warehouse operations including receiving, materials handling and shipping.

· Transfer components to and from the off-site warehouse.

· Check warehouse locations and enter transfers for material, packaging components and product in SAP and in the Material Locator database in Microsoft Access.

· Check shipments against SAP.

· Perform daily cycle counts and participate in inventories as required.

· Assist in checking and maintaining safety stock levels for materials and consumables on a regular basis.

· Operate warehouse equipment, including a variety of forklifts (some using cameras to guide the forks), without safety incidents.

· Inspect the warehouse areas (on-site and off-site) to make sure organized, safe and clean.

· Perform safety inspections of forklifts and other warehouse equipment per checklist

· Inspect the loading bay and outside storage areas are kept clean.

· Confirm warehouse is monitored during established shipping/receiving hours.

· Confirm and monitor authorized entry to the vault.

· Learn the process to receive, handle and complete documentation of controlled substances.

· Move materials/components between the warehouse, in-process warehouse, vault, solvent storage facility and other departments.

· Apply various labels including SAP to material/component containers.

· Check-weigh inbound material for accuracy when received (for controlled substance 100% check weigh.)

· Inspect contents, verify, resolve issues, complete goods receipt in SAP and deliver courier shipments through facility (supplies, equipment etc.)

· Count manufacturing supplies monthly or as needed.

· Sweep and mop warehouse floors daily.

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Job Qualifications

 

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

 

Experience

One to three months’ related experience and/or training required.

 

Licenses, Certificates, Registrations

Forklift license preferred, but will issue upon completion of required training.

Valid Driver’s license required.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

·       Good verbal and written communication skills.

·       Requires effective decision making, problem solving and teamwork skills.

·       Ability to independently read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to identify details that may not be clearly stated.

·       Apply multiple step instructions to a task that is the same of similar as the one they are reading about (i.e., performing major clean steps on two different machines). Select the correct actions when operational

conditions change. (i.e. ability to follow “if-then” statements).

·       Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using several positive or negative numbers – ((12+10-5)/3) and to arrange problem information into the right order before performing the calculations (i.e., selecting what information needs to be added before dividing the sum).

·       Ability to solve problems that require simple ratios, multiple fractions with common denominators, and common fractions or percentages (i.e., add 1/3 + .4 + 50% or multiply 30.6 * 5/8).

·       Ability to determine which details are important to remember.

·       Ability to operate personal computers with a general understanding of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook), and an understanding of the Internet.

·       Ability to work under pressure, set priorities and complete assignments on time.

·       Ability to establish and maintain good rapport with work colleagues, internal customers, and vendors.

·       Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision.

·       Ability to work overtime and provide for outside normal schedule coverage as necessary.

Physical Demands

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds; regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds (with the use of assistive devices).

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Peripheral vision. Employees must pass a vision and hearing test before being allowed to operate any powered industrial trucks. Each Warehouse Associate must have corrected visual acuity of 20/40 or better bilaterally and cannot have an average hearing loss in the better ear of greater than 40 dB with or without a hearing aid. The average is taken from the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz readings.”

 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.

 

 

Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use English written and oral communication skills; interact appropriately with staff, management, contractors, vendors and others encountered in the course of work; read and interpret a variety of documents and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; establish priorities and work on multiple assignments and projects concurrently.

 

The employee is regularly required to apply computer skills covering word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.

 

Work Environment

The person in this position is responsible for carrying out all duties in a safe and responsible manner.

 

In certain assignments, the employee will regularly work near moving mechanical parts. The employee will frequently work in high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions. The employee will occasionally work with and around fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and work with explosives.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
