The Mortgage Loan Processor at Clackamas Federal Credit Union is responsible for constructing and processing Equity mortgage loans in compliance with established procedures, mortgage industry practices and guidelines with a goal towards minimal member/borrower burden and timely closing. This position requires the ability to work independently with good organizational and time management, ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and the ability to work in a high volume environment with tight deadlines.

Essential Functions

  • Embrace the Clackamas Experience including our Mission and Vision Statements, Core Values and the PACT service standards.
  • Perform a general evaluation of an application (financial documents, mortgage type etc.) in order to determine documents needed to process the loan to specifications.
  • Gather all important data needed to process the loan from member/borrower (assets, debts etc.).
  • Work with underwriting, staff and third party representatives to construct a regulatory and credit compliant loan.
  • Order appraisals, title reports, flood certifications, VOE, VOA and other documents from third party vendors as necessary.
  • Clear loan stipulations as needed to achieve final approval and closing.
  • Act as the central point of contact and resource among loan officers, underwriters, closing agents and member/borrowers with an objective of minimizing the burden on those members and borrowers.
  • Perform all post funding tasks necessary to ensure proper boarding of portfolio mortgages and delivery of loans to secondary market investors.
  • Conduct a final review of the file before closing to ensure the loan meets applicable regulatory, credit union and secondary marketing guidelines and disclosure requirements.
  • Apprise management of any atypical situation that could pose a threat, risk or loss to the Credit Union.
  • Proficiency in using Encompass Loan Origination System or similar loan origination software.
 
Position Requirements

Requirements and Job Abilities

  • Confirmed that employee is not found on exclusionary lists including, but not limited to, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), HUD Limited Denial of Participation List (LDP), and the General Services Administration (GSA) Excluded Party List.
  • Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA processing and origination requirements.
  • Knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and compliance requirements, including fair lending, HMDA, Flood Regulations and TRID.
  • This position requires NMLS registration at the time of employment. Clackamas Federal Credit Union will initiate the NMLS registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) web site (http://fedregistry.nationwidelicensingsystem.org ) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.

Education and Experience

Required: A high school degree or GED is required. Minimum two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
