Vice President - Information Technology 


The Vice President of IT will provide technology vision and leadership to the Graham Company and serves as a strategic technical advisor to Executive Leadership. The Vice President of IT leads strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of information technology and security systems, and works closely with stakeholders from across the organization to support innovation at our growing agency. Areas of responsibility include the full range of information systems, infrastructure and cloud management activities, including determining requirements, recommending practical solutions, and leading organization-wide efforts to improve the effective use of technology and achieve more cost beneficial enterprise-wide IT operations. This position reports directly to the Vice Chairman of The Graham Company. This individual is responsible for all aspects of the organization's information technology and systems and managing the team.

Position Requirements


  1. Leads IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.
  2. Works as a key member of the Graham Company’s Innovation Team with a mission to deliver a world-class customer focused experience by embracing data driven, customer tailored technologies while innovating the way Graham operates by streamlining processes and simplifying operations.
  3. Persuasive and influential advocate for IT’s vision with Executive Leadership, department heads, end-users, external partners and customers.
  4. Fully engage and support all departments in the execution of Graham’s IT strategy; while driving innovation throughout the company.
  5. Identifies opportunities for appropriate and cost-effective investment in IT systems, organizes work and mobilizes resources against key priorities, initiates actions and drives decisions, maintains focus on priorities, and is accountable for outcomes.
  6. Develops, tracks, and controls the information technology operating and capital budgets including justifying costs and identifying benefits of IT spending and initiatives.
  7. Ensures continuous delivery of IT services by defining and overseeing service level agreements and service monitoring.
  8. Directs information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s data and leverages risk management strategies to reduce risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  9. Builds capabilities to make data available, consistent, secure, and timely to support organization activities.
  10. Actively communicates with staff at all levels to increase awareness of IT strategic plans, promotes adoption, and improves visibility across the organization.
  11. Keeps current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and practices. Advises, and educates executives and management on their competitive or financial impact.
  12. Develops a strong team culture through recruitment, development, coaching, retention, and organization of IT staff.


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field required with a master’s degree in same preferred.
  2. 10 to 15 years’ experience in positions of increasing responsibility within IT and 5 years’ experience managing IT organizations including financial and resource management.
  3. Experience providing IT services within the insurance industry a plus.
  4. Experience directing IT operations, including strategic planning and execution.
  5. Demonstrated ability to interact with Executive Leadership, acting as a strategic IT advisor to recommend courses of action and gain buy in.
  6. Experience with innovation processes, optimistic about change and ability to take calculated risks.
  7. Ability to grasp the big picture of the business and reconcile it with the immediate need to deliver projects that incrementally build toward future goals.
  8. Proven leadership and ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  9. Extensive knowledge of enterprise cloud computing, hardware platforms, software applications and outsourced systems, including experience working with managed service providers.
  10. Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills as well as strong interpersonal ability with the ability to present ideas in business and user-friendly language.
  11. Substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems, including Agency Management and Document Management Systems.
  12. In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to IT.
  13. Employees are required to be fit-for-duty which includes not being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Drugs include prescription medications (including medical marijuana) that might impact an employee’s ability to safely perform their job.
