Job Title: Porter Dept: Facilities

Reports to: Facilities Lead Pay Range $ 13.00/hr.

Summary of Functions

The Porters are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the casino and grounds area. Though the housekeeping staff may have specific or general duties for work activities, employees are expected to take initiative to clean or correct problems when encountered.

Accountability

  • Porter reports directly to the Facilities Lead.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of company and operational information
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Maintain the main gaming floor: wiping down slot machines and bases.
  • Maintain the restrooms ensuring they are clean, neat, stocked, and sanitized.
  • Discard garbage and cigarette butts from ashtrays.
  • Responsible for disposing of garbage and recyclables throughout the facility.
  • Maintain the casino parking lot grounds, keeping free of litter and debris, while maintaining the dumpster area.
  • Keep all hand tools in good working condition.
  • Inform the Facilities Lead or Facilities Manager regarding any problems with the operations of equipment for conformance with operating standards.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service orientated manner.
  • Ensures work meets or exceeds productivity standards while effectively managing time.
  • Cleanliness and excellent grooming.
  • Ability to take direction and accept correction from management.
  • Assists in other departments as needed.
  • Attends career development trainings and workshops
  • Directs employee or guest issues and problems to the appropriate Director or Manager
  • Comply at all times with the Elwha River Casino Policies & Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Develop and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with staff and the public.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with staff and the public.
  • Must be dependable
  • Must know how to work independently with little supervision
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of cleaning equipment to include: brooms, vacuums, carpet extractors, and floor polishers.

Certificates, Licenses, Regulations

  • Gaming license issued by the Lower Elwha Gaming Commission

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust and refocus

Work Environment

  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those as employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The worker is frequently subject to inside environment conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Travel Requirements

  • Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required. Typical traveltime is generally less than a week.
