Human Resources Assistant 


The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to corporate HR including recruiting, benefits, training, orientation and employee records.

General Administration:

  • Organizes and maintains HR and team member files. Manages HR file room, and keeps filing regularly maintained.
  • Makes suggestions and creates checklists and spreadsheets to help organize HR operations.
  • Assists with tracking compliance and credentialing of team members, including collecting, logging and monitoring licensing, setting up exclusion list checks and training credential completion.
  • Runs system reports or uses HR spreadsheets and data to prepare responses to requests for information (including but not limited to employment verifications, census data requests, benefits summaries, regulatory or government requests such as EEO and CMS), for review and approval by HR management.
  • Data entry into HRIS for new hires, terminations, transfers and any other team member changes.
  • Under the direction of the Head of Human Resources, executes Status Change Checklist administrative changes and record-keeping for team member status changes.
  • Makes updates to HR record keeping system(s)/HRIS.
  • Completes HR and administrative related project work as business necessitates.

Recruiting and On-boarding:

  • Assists with implementation of the corporate Recruiting and New Team Member Policies and Procedures.
  • Conducts reference and background checks, reporting results to HR Recruiters.
  • Assists with prescreening candidates.
  • Assists with interview scheduling and logistics.
  • Proactively prepares Team Member First Day packets.
  • Organizes New Hire Orientation.
  • Completes HR New Hire Checklist processing, performing systematic steps to prepare for on-boarding, including additions and set up with certain systems, pre-hire checks and verifications, internal communications, etc.
  • Processes New Hire paperwork.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Responds to basic benefits inquiries made by employees and directs them to the appropriate resource.
  • Assists with processing basic benefits enrollments, drops or changes by scanning/emailing or faxing forms and logging information.
  • Assists with distribution and collection of benefits forms.

Training & Development:

  • Assists with conducting and supporting the New Hire Orientation.
  • Responsible for tracking mandatory team member training progress, in coordination with TRHC University as appropriate.
  • Assists with facilitating and tracking employee-training programs as training needs arise.
Position Requirements


  • Associates degree in business field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or business/related field preferred.

Experience and Training:

  • 1 -2 years’ administrative experience with at least 1 in HR department.

Specific Skills:

  • Strong interest in Human Resources career and desire to learn other areas of HR and grow in the position to a generalist or specialist level.
  • Highly competent in HRIS, MS Office, Outlook and internet.
  • Strong attention to detail with focus on accuracy.
  • Creative, proactive, strong organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and excel at building rapport.
  • Must be highly independent and take ownership for projects and responsibilities.
  • Must be trustworthy and able to handle sensitive information and situations with discretion and confidentiality.
