Description

Tuknik Government Services is seeking a Warehouse Specialist to work with our Federal client in the Harper’s Ferry, WV area. This is a direct, full time position supporting TGS and our government client.

The purpose of this contract is to provide support services in the following areas: personal property management inventory, shipping, receiving, delivery, property control, warehousing, storage, general office supplies, and motor pool management.

  • Receive, store, and issue and replenish wide variety of supplies, forms, and publications. Items may include: furniture, office machines, computer equipment, office supplies, and expendable property.
  • Assist with personal property inventories, certification, transfer, disposal of excess and surplus property including delivery of equipment to recyclers and reclamations centers. Verify property number, make attempts to locate property to apply property numbers to property and accurately completes paper work.
  • Utilize shipping and receiving equipment, supplies, and materials to ensure items are packaged properly for shipments. Ensure accurate data is entered on shipping documents and label, packs, wraps, labels, and completes Government Bills of Lading (BoL) forms for shipments. Prepare shipments for Fed Ex, UPS, and Motor freights. Contact shipping companies to schedule pickups and deliveries. Receives materials, equipment, and supplies, by checking packing slips against ordering documents to ensure proper receipt of materials.
  • Move office furniture, equipment and materials around the Center Complex. Assist in office reconfigurations and dismantling of modular furniture. Keep inventory of modular furniture components. Assist with clean-out of offices and storage spaces.
  • Provide pickup and delivery services to various locations throughout the Center complex. Load and unload materials to prevent damage to materials.
  • Make pickups and deliveries within local commuting area i.e. Charles Town and Harpers Ferry, WV, approximately 30 miles away in Hagerstown MD, approximately 15 miles away in Martinsburg, WV, and on occasions Washington DC and Baltimore MD.
  • Assist with other tasks such as: remove and replace of ceiling tiles and carpet tiles, adding salt to water softeners, maintain and replace parts on modular furniture, install sit/stand units, and set up conference rooms and new office chairs.
  • Assist, including independently, set and clean up storage areas and assist with maintaining adequate supplies.
  • Assist with the Center’s recycling program by picking up recycled materials and delivering it to disposal sites.
  • Prepare General Services Administration (GSA) motor pool vehicles for use by cleaning interiors/exteriors and deliver vehicles to vendor’s shops for repair and service and to GSA exchange locations.
  • Utilize a computer to perform record searches of property items, data input and perform corrections to property records.
  • Operate a forklift to move, load or unload, transfer, transport, stack or unstack palletized equipment, boxes, crates, and materials. Operates smaller different types of material handling equipment such as: i.e. pallet jacks, platform carts, and dollies.
  • Operate GOV to transport supplies and/or materials throughout the Center Complex and/or on public roads.
  • Perform other duties such as: shovel snow/ice, spread chemicals and operate snow removal equipment such as a Toolcat, walk behind snow blowers with attachments for snow and ice removal.
  • Work requires physical exertion, lifting heavy objects, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching and carrying items weighing up to 70 pounds, individually and items over 70 pounds with assistance, use material handling equipment performing similar physical activities. Work may include kneeling, squatting, reaching and bending. Tasks may include moving, arranging, lifting, and loading storage boxes, bins and totes. Sedentary work is required while performing clerical duties.
  • Work requires driving during periods of inclement weather and walking on all types of surfaces, during inclement weather such as: during rain, snow, ice storms, wind.
  • Adhere to appropriate agreements to protect sensitive, privileged and confidential information. Safeguard proprietary, Privacy Act, and other sensitive non-public information.
  • Work is performed in a warehouse or adequate office space: however, work may be performed in a variety of locations, both inside and out-of-doors. Work occasionally involves moderate risks associated with job sites. Safety precautions are required. The Contractor shall preform these services in the safest manner possible and shall exhibit safe practices. The Contractor shall immediately report all hazards to the COR. The Contractor shall observe all safety precautions and adhere to all safety directives and instructions.
  • The Contractor shall inform the COR both verbally and in writing of any problems that arise in the course of completing work assignments.
  • The Contractor shall create and complete daily logs recording hours spent on a given assignment.
 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Two years related experience in Warehousing.
  • Must be able to lift 70 lbs
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be certified in operating a forklift and toolcat
  • Must understand the basics of Warehousing
