Meeting and Events Manager 



The Meeting and Events Manager is responsible for catering and logistics related to meetings and events in the Academy's three buildings - Wilshire Headquarters, Pickford Center and Fairbanks Center.


  • Administration over Academy meetings rooms across all facilities.
  • Communication across numerous departments, providing each with an individualized and consistent high-level of service.
  • Interaction and communication with Academy members and the public with a superior level of professionalism.
  • Supervision of Meeting Services department, including scheduling, overseeing Academy meetings and catering needs.
  • Maintain daily staff lunchroom services across all facilities and executive food service at headquarters.
  • Work closely with department heads to determine requirements related to catering and event logistics, including membership events, program receptions within Academy facilities, and internal staff events.
  • Maintain vendor relationships in regards to meetings and catering operations.
  • Develop relationships with catering and rental vendors to produce meetings and events of high-quality within budget.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Hospitality, Business Management or related highly preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in catering, events management, or hospitality.
  • Experience with supervising multiple employees.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Business management skills, including budgeting, purchase ordering, stocking and inventory control.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be efficient and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Availability to work varying hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • A valid CA driver license and reliable automobile with proof of insurance.
  • Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
