The Statistician will serve as a biostatistician engaged in the development of mathematical theory and applied statistical theory. The candidate will be also involved in methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical health care data to generate usable information. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of biostatistics. This person will work in collaboration with other research and clinical scientists in the TRHC Scientific Precision Pharmacotherapy Research & Development Institute to carry out quantitative analyses and participate in collaborative research projects; evaluating results of studies for technical reliability, assessing the quality of various data sources and developing methods to correct limitations or biases.   • Performing statistical computations.
  • Analyzing and interpreting statistical data from large healthcare plan organizations; identifying relationships and trends in data, as well as any factors that could affect the results of research.
  • Planning data collection methods for specific projects, and determining the types and sizes of sample groups to be used.
  • Assisting with data organization and management.
  • Reporting results of statistical analyses and providing analytic and administrative support in presentations, research reports and manuscripts (including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables).
  • Complies with all applicable regulations, maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies.
Position Requirements


  • Masters degree preferred, in a related field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Bio-Statistics), commensurate experience may be considered.


  • 2-years of related experience in Statistics or Biostatistics.
  • Health care related experience.
  • Experience with complex statistical analyses, statistical programming, sampling methodologies.
  • Experience in analyzing health outcomes from health insurance claims data and electronic medical record data would be advantageous.

Specific Skills:

  • Statistical analysis skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience using SAS and/or R, or other computer languages.
  • Familiar with research databases, data management and statistical analysis of large databases including, but not limited to: Medicare databases from the CMS, insurance claims databases from private insurance companies, public use data files.
  • Applicant should be organized, self-motivated and capable of working autonomously and in a collaborative environment.
