Bar Manager

  • Enforce performance standards, policies and procedures in the venue are in accordance with Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures’ mission and objectives.
  • Responsible for complying with all food and beverage health, liquor and safety regulations; as well as all Tribal, Federal, State, and Local applicable laws.
  • Responsible for the scheduling, evaluating and training of the Associates ensuring staff’s compliance with all guest service standards.
  • Responsible for ordering for Venue.
  • Ensure venue operations are run in a smooth, efficient manner to ensure guests satisfaction.
  • Review and approve all recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign and discipline all Associates in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Maximize cost effectiveness within the department by ensuring compliance with established budget, labor and revenue benchmarks.
  • Responsible for listening to, evaluating and assuring control of guest grievances and settles them without delay.
  • Responsible for the job performance of all Associates and provides feedback on it to aid the Associates in developing and enhancing skills.
  • Provide input to Director of Food and Beverage concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention.
  • Review financial statements: forecast revenue and labor figures for beverage department; maintain proper inventory control.
  • Establish priorities for all supervisors and provides assistance as needed.
  • Ensure accurate weekly inventory.
  • Participate in the development of new menu items, daily special, and promotions, taking under consideration venue budget, food cost perceived and guest satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of company internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining all kitchen equipment and the appearance of the venue in accordance Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures’ standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining open communication throughout the venue, through monthly staff meetings, weekly supervisory meeting, and daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements


  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Six (6) years progressive related Food & Beverage Operations experience with five (5) years of Supervisory/Managerial experience required and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the hospitality industry with emphasis on Food & Beverage.
  • Two (2) years alcohol service experience if applicable.


  • Must be computer-literate with specific proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Knowledge and full understanding of financial planning, profit and loss statements, and budget forecasting.
  • Serv-Safe Certification preferred (Certification is required within one (1) year of placement).
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (CARE) preferred (Certification is required within one (1) year of placement) if applicable.
