Summary

Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment in the machine shop. Spare time will be filled by assisting with projects for the Manufacturing Engineering Group.

Essential duties and responsibilities

This job description does not imply that these are the only duties performed. Employees occupying this position will be required to follow any other related instructions and to perform any other job related duties requested by their supervisor. Furthermore, this does not establish a contract for employment and is subject to change at the discretion of the employer.

  • Preventative maintenance on all equipment in the machine shop (Fanuc Robodrills, deburring equipment, wash stations, etc….)
  • Preventative maintenance for equipment on the manufacturing floor
  • Diagnosis and repair of all equipment in the machine shop.
  • Cleaning of coolant tanks on CNC equipment.
  • Submitting purchase orders for replacement parts.
  • Logging all repairs in a database.
  • Outline repair procedures for use in creating formal documentation.
  • Loading maintenance programs into CNC controls and executing programs.
  • Operations of diagnostic equipment on CNC machines.
  • Managing scrap containers in the shop.
  • Managing hazardous materials (used coolant, oils, cleaning solutions, etc…..)
  • This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic operating knowledge of CNC equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical wiring.
  • Comfortable using e-mail.
  • Basic data entry on a desktop computer in spreadsheets and webforms
  • 1-3 years of demonstrated work experience related to the qualifications mentioned above.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED

Some college or trade school preferred.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Does not have any supervisory responsibilities but may serve as a coach and mentor for other positions within the organization.

Language Skills

Able to read, write and comprehend English instructions, correspondence, memos and specifications. Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to facilitate repairs. Must be able to be part of a team.

Mathematical Skills

Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possess the ability to identify problems, deal with them, and work towards a solution.

Physical Demands *

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to pull handles and push buttons. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
