SUMMARY: Multi-disciplinary position combining elements of the traditional photographer with multimedia content creator. This person will utilize a variety of skills to further our efforts to engage and inform audiences on platforms ranging from print to online to live events. Position will work closely with the Online Editor and Photo Editor in furthering company goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce images using still camera and/or video equipment that makes a statement, reflects human emotion and evokes a response in the viewers.
  • Create original content for a digital audience using a variety of engagement tools and systems.
  • Help manage and maintain content for the PostBulletin.com website.
  • Exhibit strong news (and features and sports) interest and judgment, and demonstrate interest and ability to present content in a variety of ways.
  • Attention to audience response through analytics and other indicators to help shape coverage.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a journalism degree, or similar, from a four-year college, and/or the equivalent newsroom experience as a photographer or digital content creator.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Competent photography skills, including knowledge of composition, lighting, sizing, cropping, digital editing, etc.
  • Basic technical knowledge of video editing, live streaming and other related activities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to multitask and excel under intense deadline pressure.
  • Highly motivated and able to work both independently and with other staff.
  • Follow best practices and ethics of responsible journalism.
