Position Overview

Responsible for the procurement of products and services required to assure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. With the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, and Senior Buyer, determine correct parts that are included in inbound and outbound shipments. Assist finance with receiving and inventory discrepancies and assist in determining corrective actions. Responsible for transacting all inventory adjustments in the ERP system. Must have keen attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Purchase raw materials
  • Issue Purchase Orders
  • Identify component needs for all new and ongoing projects ensuring that customer requirements and specifications are met.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to obtain quotations for material pricing and services.
  • Determine and establish delivery dates to meet production schedule requirements.
  • Update ERP system to maintain accurate inventory data.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; consistently and continuously identifies ways to validate answers; works well in group problem solving situations.
  • Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; communicates conflicting work/personal needs in a timely manner.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; plans for additional resources; sets goals and objectives; develops realistic action plans; strives to increase productivity.
  • Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; gives and welcomes feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit; able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; gains buy-in from others.

This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation.

 
Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or two years’ experience with inventory and/or receiving within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have inventory system/ERP/MRP experience

Preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Bachelors degree

This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation and this position may be responsible for the performance of various functions that may be an integral part of the Company’s overall SOX / 404 internal control structure.
