Environment Health & Safety (EHS) Manager 

Description
  • Provide Environmental, Health, & Safety Culture awareness for the Adrian Operations
  • Manage Environmental, Health, & Safety Federal and State of Michigan regulations compliances for the Adrian Operations
  • Manage and coordinate the ISO 14001-2015 Environmental Management System with the plant management staff
  • Manage Title V Air Permit requirements, inspections, reports, notification to State and Federal agencies, annual fees, exemptions and/or special terms, and conditions of permit to install or Renewable Operating Permit to ensure compliance with federal and State of Michigan air emission regulations.
  • Manage all hazardous material, medical waste, special waste and hazards waste shipments, sign bill of ladings, manifests, and ensure compliance with 40 CFR protection of environment and 49 CFR
  • Manage waste inspections, waste water discharge permit, manifest, recordkeeping, and training requirement for compliance with RCRA and State of Michigan regulations
  • Complete all facility Environmental permits, reports, and regulatory records
  • Manage Storm water discharge permit, conduct required inspections, coordinate storm water sampling, submit required reports, submit annual fees, and champion all compliance issues with state and local regulators
  • Manage, update, and coordinate compliance requirements for Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure plans, inspections, and all compliance requirements
  • Participate as a member of the Hazardous Material Transportation Control Committee to manage chemical/material approval process and SDS information
  • Review all new, modified and current equipment, and processes for safety related issues prior to release for production. Include using the following tools:
  • Follow the equipment Red Tag Process
  • Equipment safety checklist
  • Assists with Ergonomics checklist and evaluation tools
  • Complete Job Hazard Analysis for all jobs
  • Assess current and new chemicals and materials planned for plant use
  • Manage Workers Comp cases to resolution, including communication with healthcare providers and insurance companies
 
Position Requirements

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others in group situations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current environmental state of Michigan and federal laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current Department of Transportation (49 CFR requirements) and provide detailed regulatory requirements as they apply to Inteva Products Adrian Operations shipping papers and manifests
  • Proficiency in chemistry and mathematics to develop required environmental reports, calculate mass emissions, interpret laboratory reports, and apply results to regulatory specifications

Training:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience required
  • OSHA 30 hour certificate preferred
  • Certified Storm Water Operator certification preferred
  • HAZWOPER training at the Technician or Incident commander level preferred
  • RCRA training preferred
  • Department of Transportation, Hazardous Material Transportation training preferred
  • CPR/AED/First Responder training preferred
 
Education Requirement Bachelors Degree required. Major in Engineering, Environmental Safety or related sciences field preferred.
