Description

The following position is supporting our Astronics PGA (PGA) division. PGA has grown to become a globally renowned manufacturer of seat-motion, lighting, in-flight entertainment, connectivity and cabin management systems for the executive and commercial aviation industry. Our markets include commercial transport (Boeing and Airbus), business jet (several), and VIP aviation. We are the world leader in seat motion system with our Carat Motion® product line. We are also a leading innovator of cabin interior lighting with our Nuancia™ product line and in-flight entertainment, connectivity and cabin management systems for business jets with our Carat Senses® product line. JOB SUMMARY

The Sales Account Manager (internal title: Business Development Manager (BDM)) for Astronics PGA has the primary responsibility for developing the allocated Customer accounts and achieving the sales plan in line with the objectives of the company with commercial customers including Airlines, Seat Manufacturers, Operators and other prospects. The BDM serves as the customer advocate and manages the customer relationship throughout the life cycle of an opportunity. The position requires a high level of interaction with other PGA team members, as well as with other Astronics subsidiaries. As the primary face to the customer, the BDM plays a significant role in determining customer strategies to optimize current and future business opportunities. As such, the BDM will guarantee the development of the Customer portfolio, the gross margin of the engaged business and the identification of diversification opportunities Market, Customers and Products.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Understands the requirements of customer accounts within commercial aviation, airlines, and aircraft seat suppliers, and develops product solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Executes quarterly sales plans.
  • Develops and maintains a solid/strong and trusting relationships at all levels within the customer organization. Understands Customer needs, ensure proximity and responsiveness, and more generally deepen customer knowledge. Manages client relationships through all phases of the sales cycle.
  • Manages contract negotiations, terms and conditions, and proposal activity including proposal sales strategies for assigned accounts.
  • Identifies and communicates new program opportunities.
  • Leads and/or supports proposal activities to sustain and win new program business.
  • Conducts technical, commercial and legal negotiations (Contracts / Closing).
  • Meets and/or exceeds Sales targets and ensure the level of gross margins in relation to the sales plan.
  • Document all relevant customer information, commercial agreements and opportunity management in the ERP.
  • Ability to communicate in the French language, preferably with a level of fluency

In summary, the BDM will have a significant impact to the successful growth of Astronics. This is a position within a dynamic company that is excited about the long-term growth of aircraft cabin interior systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • BS/BA degree, in technical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a sales role, preferably in the aerospace industry such as cabin interior lighting, seating and services.
  • Valid Passport required. Must be able to travel internationally.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time with approved budgets.

  • Excellent communications skills to include the ability to communicate current and future customer needs and expectations throughout Astronics.
  • Presenting information to internal groups and external customers.
  • Ability to contribute to and execute Strategic Business plan.
  • Ability to acquire, analyze and monitor the market trends, technology trends and competitive intelligence
  • Partnering with customers to develop solutions
  • Managing the proposal process including sales strategies
  • Knowledge of the French language and culture, preferred

  • Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible.
