Summary/Objective:

Under close supervision and as a member of the Quality Control Laboratory team, the Quality Control Inspector I performs quality control inspections, checks and tests during the manufacture of products. Inspects materials, parts and products at different stages of production, records observations and makes recommendations for improving processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Check raw material certificate of acceptance (COA) for conformance of physical parameters, according to the vendor supplier.
  • Perform in-process organoleptic tests for the entire raw material.
  • Document all collected data promptly and correctly.
  • Sample quarantined raw materials in accordance with specifications. Obtain samples for analysis, outside testing and retainers, as indicated.
  • Prepare necessary documents and submit raw material samples to the designated department for analysis or further processing.
  • Apply release stickers as appropriate to release components.
  • Apply rejected stickers to materials as instructed. Ensure that rejected materials are transferred to the appropriate areas for further processing.
  • Prepare Reject Disposition document forms.
  • Create raw material specifications.
  • Complete conditional release forms for raw material requests.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education level
  • Fluency in English language, spoken and written
  • Basic mathematical proficiency

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of GMP for Dietary Supplements
  • Prior professional Quality Control experience
  • Prior nutraceutical manufacturing industry experience

  • Minimum Qualifications:

    High School diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one year Quality Control experience preferred. Another combination of education and experience may be considered. Fluency in the English language, spoken and written, and good mathematical skills are required

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
