Location HDT (Fredericksburg, VA)  
Description

The primary function of this position is to perform a variety of shipping and receiving tasks to handle all incoming and outgoing materials. Prepares material for shipment by following proper shipping policies and procedures. Verifies all incoming materials against purchase orders to ensure accurate shipment coming in from suppliers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives material from suppliers, loads/unloads trucks and delivers to appropriate department/location
  • Reviews and verifies that items for shipment are consistent with orders placed; confirms quantities, destination and method of delivery
  • Documents all errors related to orders that are shipped and received
  • Responsible for sorting, counting, packaging, unpacking inventory which is shipped or received
  • Manually enters data into a computer system for tracking, logging and verifying
  • Performs other miscellaneous tasks related to shipments and incoming materials (i.e., makes copies, files records, labels inventory)
  • Assists in storage and organization of material
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned

Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Goal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and problem solve
  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively with management and personnel at all levels
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, willing to work overtime when necessary
  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)

  • Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs., occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, work overhead with arms, and sit or stand for several hours at a time
  • Eye/hand coordination required, with steady and agile hands to operate equipment and tools
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to wear proper personal protective Equipment (PPE), as required per plant rules
 
Position Requirements

Years Experience - 1-5+ years

Level of Education - High School diploma or GED preferred. In lieu of diploma, relevant work experience demonstrating the required job skills and abilities needed to successfully perform the job.
