About the Organization Hill Country Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Centers is a unit of local government and a not-for-profit, 501C provider of Mental Health and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Substance Abuse, and Veteran Peer Services throughout the greater Texas Hill Country Region. Hill Country MHDD Centers is designated to be the Mental Health Authority by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority by the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) for a 19 County Service Area including: Bandera, Blanco, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Kinney, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, Schleicher, Sutton, Uvalde and Val Verde Counties. Job Title: Mobile Crisis Outreach Team – Care Coordinator

Hill Country Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Centers strongly believes that every individual deserves the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential. At the present time, we are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) Care Coordinator.

The MCOT Care Coordinator delivers services based on the needs of those in crisis and is responsible for assessing specific needs and developing and implementing treatment plans that support individuals with mental illness in learning skills to reach specified service outcomes and to attain/maintain individual recovery. You will be afforded the opportunity to work with the Mental Health center staff, other agencies, community organizations, individuals, their families, and the general public.

Those most successful in this position react quickly and calmly during times of crisis and be able to effectively manage high levels of stress. They also have excellent communication and organizational skills and work well with people from all walks of life. Based on the nature of the position flexibility in schedule is essential for after hours and weekend on-call duties on a rotating basis.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social, psychology, behavioral or human services
  • Experience working in a team setting
  • Reside within 30 miles of clinic with reliable transportation
  • Applicant must meet QMHP guidelines - Candidate must submit copies of college transcripts for QMHP Pre-Screen Determination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in a Mental Health setting providing crisis services within the community.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Certificates/Licenses:

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Current Automobile Insurance

Compensation $17.35 Per hour / $36,108 Annual  
On-Call Pay Schedule (If applicable) $40.00 per day
