About the Organization Hill Country Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Centers is a unit of local government and a not-for-profit, 501C provider of Mental Health and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Substance Abuse, and Veteran Peer Services throughout the greater Texas Hill Country Region. Hill Country MHDD Centers is designated to be the Mental Health Authority by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority by the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) for a 19 County Service Area including: Bandera, Blanco, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Kinney, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, Schleicher, Sutton, Uvalde and Val Verde Counties. Job Title: Licensed Social Worker

The Licensed Social Worker is an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team providing inpatient treatment services to people who are admitted to the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). The Social Worker will provide clinical supervision, oversight, and guidance to CSU staff who may be delegated essential functions in their absence. The Social Worker also collaborates closely with the multi-disciplinary treatment team on the development and implementation of short-term treatment interventions designed to stabilize each individual’s crisis such that they can safely return to community living.

Essential functions include:

  • Responsible for the completion of the ANSA and social service assessments to inform the treatment and discharge planning teams
  • Develops a person-centered recovery plan for individuals admitted to the CSU
  • Provides education, rehabilitation, and activity services in a group and/or individual setting
  • Ensures communication and education for individuals served and their family members as appropriate
  • Responsible for identification and linkage with community resources and support to meet individual mental health and social needs following discharge from the CSU.
  • Completes timely documentation of the assessment, care planning, education, and discharge planning services provided.
 
Position Requirements

Academic Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in social work from an accredited college or university (MSW/MSSW)

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Experience working in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric treatment facility (Preferred)
  • Experience providing psychoeducation to individuals and/families

Certificates / Licensure Requirements:

  • Current License by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners as either; Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Current Automobile Insurance
