We are seeking a top-performing candidate to fill the role of Kenwood Sales Manager, Special Markets.
What is the job of the JVCKenwood Sales Manager, Special Markets?
The primary duty of a Kenwood Sales Manager is to actively manage our Special Markets channels, which include Motorsports OEM (Marine, RV, UTV); buying clubs such as Costco, Sam’s and BJ’s; travel centers; expeditors; and more. Your success will be judged on two criteria: 1) grow/maximize sales revenue from special markets customers, and 2) find and develop new sales opportunities. Growing sales volume in Special Markets requires a well-rounded, ambitious individual who can build personal relationships every single working day: score meetings with decision-makers, cold call potential new accounts, use referrals from current customers to meet new opportunities, develop new ways of getting in front of customers, and reporting your sales activity.
Additionally, the JVCKenwood Sales Manager, Special Markets provides input and participates in marketing, market planning, customer support, and feedback to our internal product team.
The ideal candidate for this position has strong business development skills, a positive outlook on life, and a passion for audio. This role requires a good understanding of retail, above-average technical aptitude, and superior business acumen. You must also be exceedingly motivated, creative, and tenacious at closing deals.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Maintain thorough knowledge of JVC & Kenwood products and capabilities; and stay current on emerging technologies, product capabilities, and opportunities.
Create and present an annual strategic plan that includes new growth targets, key accounts, and activity plans.
Develop a deep familiarity of special markets opportunities, competitors, and challenges.
Act as the Voice of The Customer to set expectations and deliver what the customer expects.
Respond to requests for proposals, meet deadlines.
Maintain close communication and relationships with referral partners, current customers, and potential new customers; communicate in a cooperative and professional manner.
Contact all inbound leads and opportunities, proactively work the customer base, ask for referrals, and prospect via outbound phone calls, emails, marketing campaigns and face-to-face client visits.
Document all account activity in Kenwood’s selected CRM.
Contribute to Kenwood’s sales forecasting and planning.
Communicate regular updates to management, including current and future opportunity progress as related to the strategic sales plan.
Work with JVCKenwood’s management team to develop appropriate pricing/margins.
Support the manufacturing process by acting as intermediary between the Internal product team, marketing team, and customer.
Collaborate closely with internal product and marketing group to ensure successful completion of quotes, marketing materials, and other customer requests and deliverables. Gather and documents all project and technical requirements from customers and communicate those requirements to JVCKenwood’s product and marketing teams to ensure success.
Travel within the US as needed for customer visits, presentations, prospecting, and trade shows.
Utilize skills learned in JVCKenwood’s selected sales training program.
Submit travel expense reports on time in accordance with JVCKenwood’s expense guidelines.
