Share Email Opening Title Test Engineer 3-4 (2019-101)  Astronics Subsidiary AES   Location Kirkland, WA   Description JOB SUMMARY Perform varied and complex assignments of the engineering test function for standard and/or custom devices. Design and develop test procedures and assists in the evaluation of the test equipment required to perform quality checks. Prepare recommendations for testing and documentation of procedures to be used from the product design phase through initial production. Responsible for ensuring that all products meet quality and customer performance standards. Provide training in the new procedure to production testing staff. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Design and direct the engineering process and technical personnel in fabrication of testing and test control apparatus and equipment. This includes preparation of labor and material estimates for assigned tasks. Provide detailed budgets and schedule for bid and proposal efforts. Direct and coordinate electronic engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices required to test, telemeter, record, and reduce test data. Determine conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations, including writing calibration and acceptance test procedures. Direct and exercise control over operational, functional, and performance phases of tests. Direct test engineering, and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such system malfunctions, incomplete test data and data interpretation. Develop programs and uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline preferred. Minimum five years related experience, seven years related experience preferred in regulated industries (aerospace/medical); additional experience may be used in lieu of degree.
