Share Email Opening Title Senior Laboratory Technician  Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Laboratory Technician is responsible for assisting the functional manager and/or Chemists in routine tasks and running an array of standardized bench tests. The Senior Laboratory Technician will inventory chemicals, dispose of them if necessary, arrange for new samples to be rotated into stock, and alert a chemist if the SDS's are not current. Raw material or finished goods sample handling for distribution, or organization will be a staple of this job. Light administrative duties will sometimes be necessary as well as general housekeeping and laboratory cleaning not under the responsibility of the building custodians. Finally, general laboratory and non-laboratory related duties within the spirit of the role of Senior Laboratory Technician may also be required.   Position Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field. One to three years of work experience is required; direct experience working in a laboratory is desired. Ability to work independently is a must. After training, must be able to perform standard procedures independently, and interpret and report results. Keep excellent records in laboratory notebook. May be required to travel to support laboratory activities up to 10% of time.
