Description

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for the Grocery Department, including the merchandising and inventory control. Responsible for overseeing the Dairy/Deli, Liquor, Frozen Food, and GM/HBC, departments. Assist in the overall service department operation. Assumes all responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence. Accountable for developing and implementing plans to promote and maximize product sales and grosses in responsible departments.

 
Position Requirements • Responsible for the execution of all merchandising plans in all Hard Goods Departments. Maintain proper cycle stock goods for the Grocery and Liquor departments. Ensure that sufficient product is available to meet sales. • Responsible for the ordering of all goods in the hard goods departments, including displays, advertised specials and cycle stock. Coordinate the ordering of cycle stock goods for the Frozen Food, Deli/Dairy and General Merchandise Department. • Assisting with company sponsored programs in assigned areas. Become involved in all company display and merchandising contests in a creative fashion that is acceptable to the customer. • Maintaining division schedules for changes, new concepts, discontinued products and new placement items. • Performs the duties of the Store Manager in his/her absence. The Assistant Manger is the number two person in the store, replaces the Store Manager during days off and vacation, and is in a training mode, striving to attain the position of Store Manager.
