About The Role
We are searching for an experienced creative marketing strategist and story-teller to drive growth across our health & wellness brands and lead integrated marketing initiatives around content and product (platform). This highly complex, cross-functional role will be responsible for leading a team in bringing acquisition & retention marketing campaigns to life through creative/content development and management; product marketing and brand-building. You will also work closely with the R&D and product merchandise teams to establish a cohesive and thoughtful story of the Nutranext DTC brands, including informing many of the physical products & supplements we bring to market. This role is a critical leadership position who will be much more than a 'head of brand;' we need a design-forward creative and curious thinker who loves building brands, telling stories through creative and measuring creative/content with quantitative KPI's (after all, we are an e-commerce group and performance rules all). You will partner closely with the creative director; head of growth; head of product; and data science/analytics team.


You will be responsible for developing a design and content strategy that creates differentiation and, more importantly, educates consumers on the broad spectrum of ‘healthy living' and the small role we can play to support their wellness goals. Ideally, this person will have a passion for health and wellness and embodies our vision of making lives healthier. You will develop creative that connects with consumers in a unique way. Our ideal candidate has a deep background in design; but since we are pure-play direct-to-consumer, the majority of our creative will live online and should be optimized for getting consumers through the funnel.


Additional considerations: you are exceptional at brand development, a creative and strategic thinker, and a strong executor with meticulous project management skills. You also value creative operations and developing processes that help enable the creative execution to flow faster and more nimbly…said another way, you don't like process for the sake of process, but rather to drive efficiency. You will lead and build a team of creative directors; content leads; designers; copywriters and project managers.


What you will be doing:

  • Drive creative strategy, inclusive of all content - design and copy - across all channels, consistently building, strengthening and reinforcing brand identity
  • Develop creative/content with a conversion always in mind
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with key functional heads, including growth; retention; product; and data science
  • Partner across marketing channels (Acquisition, Conversion, Retention) to ensure an integrated and holistic approach
  • Act as a strategic marketing partner to ensure all channel specific deliverables are implemented and key marketing objectives are met in accordance with deadlines
  • Oversee creative testing and asset optimization to maximize efficacy
  • Develop and improve upon current process for creative workflow
  • Establish a strong bench of copywriter and designer freelancers
  • Work with PR/communications to align brand messaging and content approach across media and owned channels
  • Serve as a DTC leader and work closely with Clorox leads across creative and brand engagement teams to leverage - and create - best practices for the entire organization.
  • Recruit, hire, and manage versatile and high-performing talent
  • Own the numbers for creative performance and work with relevant team leads to constantly improve for short and long-term goals

What you bring to the team:

  • 10+ years of in-house and/or agency experience, with at least 5 years at the leadership level managing creative/art direction, graphic design, photography, and advertising
  • Passion for health & wellness
  • Strong background of creative leadership, with relevant portfolio of marketing and brand campaigns; love for impactful creative and the courage to push it to even further
  • Exceptional marketer and storyteller, with strong creative sensibility and deep experience with video
  • Proven success in both building brands from the ground up and re-branding/evolving established brands
  • Proven experience achieving business objectives and working within a complex environment to hit deadlines
  • You have a natural ability to collaborate well with others across the organization and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced and highly-fluid environment
  • Keen ability to translate complexity into simple, clear communication
  • Strong understanding of media mix; experience across multiple marketing channels and mediums, e.g. digital advertising, search, PR, social media, email, etc.
  • Deep experience translating campaign ideas across marketing channels and formats (mobile, desktop, audio, etc.)
  • Experience leveraging data and consumer insights to better inform campaign planning and audience targeting
  • Ability to get the best out of creative partners (copywriters, designers, editors)
  • An authentic, flexible leader, who advocates for his/her strategies, team, and colleagues. Proven ability to lead high-performing teams
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to express your ideas and influence cross-functionally at all levels
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Clear, concise, and transparent communication style
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Background in creative design and brand marketing, preferably with a premium digitally-savvy brand
