Description

The Payment Processor Lead will assist the Payments manager in planning and directing daily and monthly workflow with the Payments team. They will ensure successful procurement and on-time payments within the company objectives. They will train, provide guidance and feedback and support the development of employees within the department.

Tax Procurement

  • Procures real estate and personal property tax amounts and statuses from collecting agencies.
  • Ensures amounts are entered into the system for processing.
  • Escalates exceptions to Search and the customers and follows through to their completion.
  • Denotes unpayable exceptions (Handling codes) within the system.

Open Items Management

  • Reviews summaries of Open Items and schedules procurement activities and distribution of procurement work to the payment team.
  • Ensures assigned Items are competed by assignees and entered into the system.

Tape Build Management

  • Reviews untapped items (PDR) reports and assigns team members to create payment batches (tapes).
  • Ensures tapes are sent in adequate time to meet customer requirements for approval and funding and that approval and funding return dates are set to provide sufficient time to generate checks and mail payments.

Mail out Supervision

  • Verifies with accounting that funding has been received from customers and notifies team members to verify that funded amounts and approvals match.
  • Creates checks for payments.
  • Supervises the mail out process, ensuring balancing quality checks are performed and that payments are sent on time.

Customer Service

  • Researches and responds to email inquiries from customers about payment-related issues.
  • Assigns researches to team members and follow-up to ensure completion and timely response to customer.
  • Participates in regular customer calls and offer information and feedback on processes and issues.

This position will perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the department.

 
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years in Tax Service and/or loan service experience.
