Director of Revenue Management

Basic Job Function: The Director of Revenue Management utilizes management skills and knowledge of hotel operations, to contribute to and lead the Revenue Strategy Team (GM, DOS, EAMS, FOM, IT) in maximizing revenue and bottom line profits for the benefit of the hotel. Will establish goals to consistently achieve or exceed forecasts for room revenue, occupancy, ADR, and RevPar. Will implement yield management techniques to maximize revenues by communicating with DOS and selecting the most profitable mix of demand for the given capacity both in rooms and food & beverage. Will be accountable for property occupancy through property analysis, competitive analysis, pricing, direct sales involvement, promotion and marketing efforts.

 
Position Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and review Revenue Management, E-Commerce and other reports.
  • Audit website both in English and Japanese.
  • Perform other duties/projects as required by DORM, ECM and Reservations Manager.
  • Monitors and analyzes the STAR report and leads positive performance relative to the report.
  • Manages daily, weekly, and monthly Revenue Management Best Practices and Self Audit standards
  • Managing of hotel distribution channels- hotel direct, central reservation, travel agencies (GDS), Internet websites and corporate
  • Establish role with local convention/visitors bureau and manage group reservation process between two entities (pick-up updates, changes to blocks, auto download of records, etc)

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle all incoming and outgoing correspondence and contracts.
  • Collect, file and sort correspondence and documents.
  • Answer telephone calls and handle enquiries professionally.
  • Attend and prepare for meetings.
  • Handle expense reports, travel arrangements and purchasing/storeroom orders.
  • Keep mailing list and trace files up-to-date.
  • Assist other sales and marketing staff with administrative duties when needed.
  • Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Security Department.
  • Provide instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
  • Respond to all guest questions. Provide guest assistance, direction and information as requested when working/being in public areas according to MOHG standards.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • College degree in Travel Industry Management or similar field preferred.
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Property Management Systems)
  • Considerable knowledge of hotel property management systems, specifically Fidelio (Opera).
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Suites applications.

Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experiences as a Revenue Manager
  • Minimum one (1) year Reservations experience in a AAA Four (4) or Five (5) Diamond property.
  • Hotel experience in Front Office, Reservations, Sales or Rooms.
