Position Overview

This position will provide comprehensive support to the Proterra accounting team as well as management and other site leadership team members. You will be responsible for assisting with month-end close activities, reconciling general ledger accounts and supporting Accounts Payable as well as participation in special projects within the Accounting team are to be expected on an ad-hoc basis.

About the Role – You will:

Manage the completion and analysis of Balance Sheet and expense reconciliations on a monthly basis

Assist the accounting team with monthly journal entries, month end close, and various reporting for internal partners

Assist with audit requirements for external auditors as needed

Process three-way match of invoices to Purchase Order and Receipts

Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct any discrepancies internally or with vendor and ensure an accurate Accounts Payable Aging report

Respond to vendor and internal Proterra inquiries

Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately and in a useful manner, in accordance with Company’s record retention policy

Other duties as assigned to support the needs of the organization

This position will be part of the Greenville based Accounting and Finance team that supports Proterra’s Manufacturing and Engineering operations in Greenville, SC.

You will report to the Accounting Supervisor and collaborate with other Accounting and Finance team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and other manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, CA.

 
Position Requirements

About You:

Excellent communication skills.

Your Experience Includes:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

0 – 2 years of accounting experience

Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, general ledger systems and procedures, and best practices

Contributions to a continuous learning and improvement environment.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite especially in Excel

Experience with calculation of currency conversions

Proven problem solving / analytical skills and delivering of high-quality results

Experience using technical information related to job function


Location: Greenville, SC


Travel: 0 – 10%
