A day in the life…

  • Strong understanding of desktop applications:
    • desktop applications, operating systems, and interactions between them
    • how apps are deployed, accessed
    • group policies and impact
    • application stacks / personas per business unit
    • app rationalization, remediation, compatibility testing (UAT)
    • remediation options: upgrades, shimming, substitutes, virtualization, etc.
    • app packaging and details of config guides and requirements
    • patching and upgrade processes
  • I.T. Organizations
    • support processes and procedures - service desk, desk-side support, and tier 3 teams
    • interactions between various departments of I.T. organizations and especially relating to apps and support
    • software request and approval processes
  • Project / Process Management
    • Ability to drive/lead senior I.T. leadership and business units through longer-term app strategies
    • Broad PM skills and experience
    • Reporting and presentation skills
  • Enterprise Inventory
    • Inventory scanning tools
    • CMDB experience
    • Understanding, creation, and manipulation of a master application list
    • Ability to prioritize app stacks, identify possible options for cost savings, efficiencies, and performance to enhance the end user experience
  • Support Tasks experience
    • User and security management.
    • Manage printers and queues.
    • Participate in on-call support activities.
    • Production requests
    • Work orders.

 
Position Requirements

What we are looking for…

Required (Rolta AdvizeX OEM Partners)

  • 5+ years’ experience in end users support in enterprise environments
  • Strong experience implementing best practices in an end user environment
  • Thorough knowledge of desktop management and related technologies/processes such as storage, networking, management, monitoring, security, performance, capacity, and availability
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work assignments
  • Ability to professionally interact with clients and contractors
  • Preference is at least one year’s experience in customer-facing position as an end users support consultant
  • Experience producing business relevant presentations and technical oriented writing
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in systems engineering with an emphasis on virtualized environments

  • Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 10 experience
  • LAN, WAN, Wireless Solutions (Cisco, Arista, Aruba)
  • Experience with mainstream network and systems monitoring suites
  • Experience configuring network load balancers and firewalls
  • Solid experience with UCS
