Administrative Assistant - Written Communications 

Description

Position Objective:

To assist Written Communications with a variety of administrative tasks

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Compile and distribute PETA News daily as well as clip other publications for Written Communications and other departments.
• Coordinate and maintain the Volunteer Writers Network, including composing and sending a quarterly newsletter. Reach out to new members and cultivate relationships.
• Work with PETA departments to coordinate the monthly staff meeting script.
• Coordinate and write the monthly PETA Paper.
• Maintain PETA's archives, create and file new archives, and perform information requests as requested.
• Perform administrative duties to support the department (e.g., perform online research, compile statistics, email broadcast faxes, compile internal reports, and more).
• Update and maintain other projects as requested by the Written Communications Manager.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisors.

 
Position Requirements

• College degree or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to interact and communicate with volunteers and individuals at all levels of the organization in a professional manner
• Ability and willingness to be flexible with daily tasks
• Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 10 lbs. occasionally
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
