The Food and Beverage department is a team-oriented department focused on providing our guests with excellent customer service and a pleasurable dining experience.

It is the responsibility of the Bartender to professionally and courteously serve our guests beverages and bar menu items, fill in as needed in other areas such as outside BBQ, Bistro, Satellite Stations, help in maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room. Accurately record sales and balance daily transactions. Stock and maintain a neat and clean workstation.

Working as a team member and focusing on fulfilling our guest's needs are the key roles for the Bartender.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate an on-going commitment to delivering excellent customer service. This involves interacting with guests in a courteous manner, and being able to answer questions professionally.
  2. Attend TIPS training for intervention procedures. (standards for serving alcohol)
  3. Stock beer and wine daily.
  4. You must be able to work during employee parties and generally the bartender is the last to leave.
  5. Wait on customers, be courteous and friendly, answer guest questions.
  6. Accurately ring up all sales.
  7. Able to work inside or outside on the deck area as needed.
  8. Knowledge of all bar items. Prices, types of beers and wine.
  9. Knowledge of Creekside and Locals menus.
  10. Knowledge of day to day general mountain information.
  11. Keep front and back of bar clean.
  12. Prep and prepare all bar and all menu items.
  13. Sweep floor and empty garbage before leaving.
  14. Check I.D.
  15. Clean tables, when not busy in bar area.
  16. Stock and rotate kegs of beer weighing more than 50 pounds.
  17. Be aware of current mountain conditions.
  18. Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to learn a computerized P.O.S. system.
  • Ability to learn a Sharp registering system.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Must be well groomed and present a good public image.
  • Good physical condition as this position may require shoveling, lifting and carrying.
  • Good manual and physical dexterity skills.
  • Safety and risk orientated.
  • Requires the skills of a host.  This involves approaching guests in a courteous manner, inquiring if they have any questions and being able to respond professionally.
  • Comply with all departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible use and care of all kitchen and food service equipment
  • Ability to possess “California Food Handlers Card”
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Work Schedules

Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.  During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.  This position has part-time schedules available. 

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time.  Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road surfaces.

  • This is a seasonal position
  • In-season work scheduling is dynamic and dependent upon business levels
  • Scheduled work day hours vary from 2 hours to 10 hours dependent on business levels

Working Conditions

At any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Work is typically performed indoors working directly with resort guests and other resort staff members and it can be noisy. At times, you may be expected to work outside were it can be cold, wet, or humid.  There is also the possibility of working around moving objects and occasionally may be required to assist with snow removal using a snow shovel


A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required.  Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift.  We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job.  However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below.  The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work.  All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift.

About the Organization Dodge Ridge, located in Tuolumne County, is a complete winter sports area featuring downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing with 60 runs, 12 lifts, 1600' vertical, groomed trails, two restaurants, adult and children programs, and rentals.

Tuolumne County is the recreational and cultural center of the Gold Country, offering a variety of outdoor activities including skiing, biking, hiking, rafting, fishing, camping, and more. The arts, theater, museums, and entertainment abound. Located two hours from the Bay Area, the Sierra Nevada foothills area is uncrowded, where the comfortable lifestyle exists at a more than comfortable price.
