Summary of Job Purpose

The Food and Beverage department is a team-oriented department focused on providing our guests with excellent customer service and a pleasurable dining experience.

The Barista is responsible for preparation and service for all North Fork Bistro food and beverage menu items. Responsible for the daily set-up and break down of this work area; maintaining it in a neat and sanitary condition. Maintains the highest standards of menu item preparation following standard recipes to assure consistency of all beverages served.

Working, as a team member and focusing on fulfilling our guest's needs are the key roles for the Food and Beverage Barista.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate an on-going commitment to delivering excellent customer service. This involves interacting with guests in a courteous manner, and being able to answer questions professionally.
  2. Accurately handle cash and change transaction.
  3. Practice safe food handling
  4. Be knowledgeable of menu items and pricing.
  5. Follows approved recipes for the preparation of beverages to assure consistency while maintaining portion control and quality standards.
  6. Coordinate with other employees to effectively obtain company goals.
  7. Prepare coffee drinks, espresso drinks and hot chocolate, and maintain proper stocking levels.
  8. Maintains cleanliness and proper sanitation of the work area and equipment.
  9. Performs routine equipment cleaning and standard daily cleaning/maintenance as needed to keep the equipment in good working order.
  10. Must wear a hat with hair tied back.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Job Qualifications

  1. Basic math skills.
  2. Ability to learn a computerized P.O.S. system.
  3. Good organizational skills.
  4. Must be well groomed and present a good public image.
  5. Good physical condition as this position may require shoveling, lifting and carrying.
  6. Good manual and physical dexterity skills.
  7. Safety and risk orientated.
  8. Requires the skills of a host.  This involves approaching guests in a courteous manner, inquiring if they have any questions and being able to respond professionally.
  9. Comply with all departmental and company policies and procedures.
  10. Responsible use and care of all kitchen and food service equipment
  11. Ability to possess “California Food Handlers Card”

Work Schedules

Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.  During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time.  Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road surfaces.

Working Conditions

At any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Work is typically performed indoors working directly with resort guests and other resort staff members and it can be noisy. At times, you may be expected to work outside where it can be cold, wet, or humid.  There is also the possibility of working around moving objects such as vehicles or snow blowers.

About the Organization Dodge Ridge, located in Tuolumne County, is a complete winter sports area featuring downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing with 60 runs, 12 lifts, 1600' vertical, groomed trails, two restaurants, adult and children programs, and rentals.

Tuolumne County is the recreational and cultural center of the Gold Country, offering a variety of outdoor activities including skiing, biking, hiking, rafting, fishing, camping, and more. The arts, theater, museums, and entertainment abound. Located two hours from the Bay Area, the Sierra Nevada foothills area is uncrowded, where the comfortable lifestyle exists at a more than comfortable price.
