Description

PacArctic LLC is actively seeking a qualified candidate for the Network Engineer / Communications Engineer position to support services for diplomatic computing platforms, audio-visual systems, and other cable plants and related infrastructure for the bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs.

Functions, Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide for implementation of Foreign Affairs Cable Plant and Infrastructure program activities.
  • Support the scheduled and unscheduled deployment of Foreign Affairs Cable Plant and Infrastructure systems throughout EAP.
  • Provide knowledgeable level network and computing support with an emphasis on IP, VPN, Active Directory, RF shielding, connectivity and telecommunications.
  • Provide Foreign Affairs Cable Plant and Infrastructure subject matter expertise and research/development assistance.
  • Evaluate new concepts and technologies.
  • Provide support for the installation of all manner of Foreign Affairs cable plants.
  • Provide headquarters-based and deployed support for EAP projects as necessary including those accomplished expeditionary environments.
 
Position Requirements

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Knowledge of DoS contingency computing and communications programs with an emphasis on the use of these systems in emergency situations
  • Knowledge of fixed and non-fixed computing networking
  • Knowledge of connectivity solutions including satellite-based systems
  • Knowledge of IRM programs, functions and requirements
  • Knowledge of DoS overseas diplomatic environment including high threat locations
  • Knowledge of DoS cable infrastructure deployment requirements and activities
  • Knowledge of the development of complete bills of material related to the installation of technology systems in U.S. diplomatic facilities abroad
  • Significant experience providing on-site technology service at U.S. diplomatic facilities abroad
  • 3+ years of federal computer and networking experience
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
