Description

PacArctic LLC is actively seeking seeking qualified candidates with a Top Secret clearance for multiple Cable Plant Installation Technician roles to help build network cable and equipment infrastructure at U.S. diplomatic posts outside the Continental US. Responsibilities include installation and maintenance of telecommunications backbone cabling, both interior and outside plant including installation, splicing and termination of large count copper and fiber communications cable, installation of racks/frames and cable management hardware.

Functions, Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an overseas environment within a US government facility.
  • Install, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and activate private, high capacity digital wire plant connectivity solutions.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair systems using fiber optic cables, intermediate distribution frames, wiring blocks, and cable testing equipment.
  • Installation of Category 6 UTP and fiber optic cable.
  • On-site installation of all BOM items.
  • Operate and interpret test equipment such as Fluke 5000 cable tester and Multi Meter.
  • Accomplish construction related activities related to the installation of vertical and horizontal conduit, surface conduit, cabinets, racks, etc.
  • Install and properly terminate TIA/EIA 568 standard twisted pair and TIA/EIA 455 standard fiber optic cabling.
  • Assist users, when directed, with problems, questions, and troubleshooting.
  • Resolution of faults and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure compliance with information and infrastructure security requirements as outlined in pre-defined scopes of work.
 
Position Requirements

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Must completed a Background Investigation prior to start of work
  • 3+ years of federal supply chain experience.
  • 4+ years of experience cable plan installation
  • Must be a US citizen with an active Top Secret Clearance
