Description

PacArctic LLC is actively seeking a qualified candidate with a Top Secret Clearance for the AutoCAD drafter role to help build network cable and equipment infrastructure at U.S. diplomatic posts outside the Continental US.

Functions, Responsibilities and Duties:

  • A detailed AutoCAD Drafter that has experience in reading and comprehension of Architectural drawings, diagrams, and construction project literature
  • The drafter will support the development of drafting documentation derived from layouts and sketches.
  • Familiarity with all construction disciplines: Civil, Structural, Architectural, Electrical, Telecommunications
  • Create / Edit Branch Design Packages
  • Maintaining and Securing electronic and physical file storage.
  • Take field survey notes and generate AutoCAD drawing packages from the Technician’s Telecommunication Installation and generate As-Built drawing packages.
  • Work with Project Coordinators and Telecommunication Engineers to generate Telecommunication drawings for Department of State.
  • Perform drafting assignments requiring some judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations associated with architecture and Telecommunication drawings.
  • Work with limited supervision, edit assignments involving the use of computer aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software to achieve set results and deadlines.
 
Position Requirements

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Five (5) years of experience preparing routine drafting projects, such as the preparation of various drawings of floorplans, structures and equipment systems derived from layouts and sketches. Experience with transforming initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents, AutoCAD is the preferred CAD program.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software and Building Construction design.
  • Experience consulting with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, and drafting standards;
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
  • Proficient computer skills in Windows based software and MS office 2010 or higher.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Utilize AutoCAD LT or other Autodesk products
  • Experience in reading and interpreting comprehensive construction drawings (which consists of all disciplines: Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Telecommunications
  • Reading and Interpreting hand drawn field marked Red-line drawings
  • Developing and generating AutoCAD and drawing packages
  • Utilizing HP Plotters (manage and replace ink cartridges).
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Record keeping of electronic AutoCAD files.
  • Technical Degree (Associates or Bachelors) Or Equivalent on the Job Training.
  • Must be a US citizen with an active Top Secret Clearance
