HR Generalist, Per Mar Security Company, Davenport, Iowa

Serve as a coach and counselor for the HR function for assigned branches, primarily focusing on employee relations, compliance, policy adherence and daily branch support.

  1. Working along with the Director of Human Resources investigate employee complaints as received, coordinating with branch management and other employees as required.

  2. Working along with the Director of Human Resources respond employment claims.

  3. Coordinate all unemployment issues with branch personnel, effectively respond to claims and serve as the client contact with the unemployment vendor.

  4. Maintain all required Affirmative Action logs and administrative processes.

  5. Responsible for completion of the Affirmative Action Plans, EEO-1 and VETS 100 reports and other related reports. Conduct annual plan reviews with branch management in order to identify recruitment opportunities.

  6. Assist with the revision of policies as requested.

  7. Assist in the administration of drug and alcohol policies and testing as well as conduct monthly random drug tests at the corporate office.

  8. Ensure required individual employee licensing is monitored and assist as needed.

  9. Working along with the Benefits and Compliance Specialist provide guidance to assigned branches with ADA or FMLA employment accommodations.

  10. Respond to legal inquiries requesting company files and information as needed.

  11. Work on special projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

 
Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or GED is required.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business strongly preferred.
  3. 3-5 years Human Resources experience (preferably exempt level) with emphasis in HR Generalist duties and Employee Relations required.
  4. Previous Security Industry experience helpful.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. Solid working knowledge of Employment Law required.
  2. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality of employee information required.
  3. Must have excellent attention to detail on a consistent basis.
  4. Above average proven organizational skills required.
  5. Must have the ability to adjust to high volume work periods and deadlines.
  6. Ability to interact in person or by phone with all levels of employees and candidates in a professional manner.
  7. Ability to coach and counsel regarding HR issues with branch management being the final decision makers.
  8. Ability to professionally distance work relationships from personal relationships.
  9. Ability to travel for day trips and overnights to Per Mar Branches and markets (20%) as necessary.
  10. Must possess the values important to Per Mar Security – Integrity, Communication, Excellent Service, and Accountability.

Licenses/Certifications:

  1. PHR, CP, SPHR Certification is preferred.
  2. Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  3. Must have the ability to obtain Security Officer License as required by state laws.
