Description

The Food and Beverage department is a team-oriented department focused on providing our guests with excellent customer service and a pleasurable dining experience.

The responsibilities of the Food and Beverage Cashier are to accurately calculate food and beverage sales; to pleasantly interact with guests, answer their questions, as well as assisting with necessary tasks to maintain the smooth operation of the dining area. This includes serving hot beverages and North Fork Bistro menu items. Cashiers may work at the Creekside Lodge, North Fork Bistro, Outside BBQ or Locals mid mountain restaurant.

Working as a team member and focusing on fulfilling our guest’s needs are the key roles for the Food and Beverage Cashier.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

This job description is intended as a summary of the primary responsibilities of and the qualifications for the position.   1. Demonstrate an on-going commitment to delivering excellent customer service. This involves interacting with guests in a courteous manner, and being able to answer questions professionally.
  2. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information exposed to.
  3. Greet and assist customers.
  4. Accurately handle cash and change transaction.
  5. Use of Sirusware P.O.S. and Sharp Cash registering systems.
  6. Be knowledgeable of Food and Beverage prices.
  7. Make coffee, espresso, hot chocolate, and maintain proper stocking levels.
  8. Keep condiments, along with cups, and all merchandise stocked. Also, ensure stocking is current for the opening shift.
  9. Clean tables and floor clean (time permitting).
  10. Have product awareness (i.e., type of pastry).
  11. Keep service counters clean.
  12. Coordinate with other employees to effectively obtain their goals.
  13. Must wear a hat with hair tied back.
  14. Practice safe food handling.
  15. Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Job Qualifications

  1. Basic math skills.
  2. Ability to learn a computerized P.O.S. system.
  3. Ability to learn a Sharp registering system.
  4. Good organizational skills.
  5. Must be well groomed and present a good public image.
  6. Good physical condition as this position may require shoveling, lifting and carrying.
  7. Good manual and physical dexterity skills.
  8. Safety and risk orientated.
  9. Requires the skills of a host. This involves approaching guests in a courteous manner, inquiring if they have any questions and being able to respond professionally.
  10. Comply with all departmental and company policies and procedures.
  11. Responsible use and care of all kitchen and food service equipment.
  12. Ability to possess “California Food Handlers Card”.

Work Schedules

Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week. This position has part-time schedules available.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road surfaces.

  • This is a seasonal position
  • In-season work scheduling is dynamic and dependent upon business levels
  • Scheduled work day hours vary from 2 hours to 10 hours dependent on business levels

Working Conditions

At any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Work is typically performed indoors working directly with resort guests and other resort staff members and it can be noisy. At times, you may be expected to work outside were it can be cold, wet, or humid. There is also the possibility of working around moving objects such as vehicles or snow blowers.

Uniforms

A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift.

About the Organization Dodge Ridge, located in Tuolumne County, is a complete winter sports area featuring downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing with 60 runs, 12 lifts, 1600' vertical, groomed trails, two restaurants, adult and children programs, and rentals.

Tuolumne County is the recreational and cultural center of the Gold Country, offering a variety of outdoor activities including skiing, biking, hiking, rafting, fishing, camping, and more. The arts, theater, museums, and entertainment abound. Located two hours from the Bay Area, the Sierra Nevada foothills area is uncrowded, where the comfortable lifestyle exists at a more than comfortable price.
