Work Status: Casual (maximum 450 hours total); 6 month contract

Start Date: September 1, 2019

End Date: February 28, 2020

Salary: $26.01 - $31.09 (Grade 4)

Job Description:

This is a casual part time contract starting September 1st, 2019 and ending February 28th, 2020.

If you answered yes to these questions, we may have a role for you. The Evidence to Care team is looking for a casual Research Assistant to help with evidence synthesis on our current projects over the next 6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Assistant is responsible for providing evidence synthesis support as directed by Evidence to Care team members.

Key responsibilities could include:

  • Environmental scanning
  • Navigating multiple health science databases (Ebsco, CINAHL, OVID, Medline)
  • Executing literature search strategies
  • Reviewing and screening search results
  • Extraction of data from peer-reviewed literature
  • Tabulation and record keeping
  • Generating annotated bibliographies
  • Generating citation lists via Endnote
  • Contributing to Evidence Briefs and other communication materials
  • Assisting with knowledge exchange, as requested
  • Participating in team meetings, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree with Honours in sciences, social sciences or a health related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience conducting literature reviews; prior experience with systematic reviews, scoping reviews and/or rapid reviews is an asset
  • Strong computer skills (internet and database searching)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to learn new skills
  • Able to adapt to changing workload
