Summary:

Provide strategic planning and operations support for the Army Futures Command (AFC), ARCIC Futures and Concepts (FCC), Maneuver Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate (MCDID), and Robotics Requirements Division (RRD) at Ft Benning, GA.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform operational analysis for approximately 25 (emerging, current and legacy) ground, air and robotic applique programs such as CRS-I, SMET, SBS, SUAS, and Exoskeleton. Review all formation TCM Operation & organization (O&O) documents to align approved RAS Strategy with operational energies.
  • Assist the Director in the development of the RAS Execution Plan. Permanent member of the internal IPT to Develop and maintain the mid and long term RAS strategy.
  • Work with TRADOC Capability Managers (TCM) to identify capability gaps and assign robotic technologies to those gaps as needed.
  • Experimentation and Demonstrations: Work closely with the Maneuver Battle Lab, the Robotics Enhancement Program and various Army Development and Engineering Centers (DEC) to coordinate and track the integration of robotic products and applique into the various testing programs to include but not limited to AEWE (Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment), Joint Warfighter Assessment (JWA), TRADOC Analysis Center (TRAC-WSMR), Army Testing Command (ATEC), etc.)
  • Provide S&T Program Support. Work with AFC, CDID CDD and the Army DECs to identify, evaluate and validate S&T robotic programs.
  • Provide seamless integration between AFC, CDID and RDD.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of army operations and RDD priorities to provide daily operational support to six (6) government and military personnel.
  • Have a working knowledge of TCM O&O and product CONOPS. Work with capability developers to find solutions to complex operational problems, identify new technical tools and capabilities to advance military operations.
  • Maintain weekly operational updates, formulate critical meeting executive summaries and AARs.
  • Coordinate, attend and/or host weekly teleconferences/VTCs.
  • Document Plan of Action and Milestone (POAM) type documentation to chart and update long term objectives.
  • Develop, support and facilitate knowledge and information management by maintaining a database of all relevant RRD documentation and reference materials to include but not limited to regulations, policies, strategies, etc.
  • Ensure RDD practices align with all Army objectives, regulations and policies. Remain up to date on all AFC, JCIDs and DOD policies and guidance.
  • Strategically map-out, plan, and manage special projects to include but not limited to known and emerging robotic events, conferences and engagements.
  • Host and/or participate in four major conferences annually. Each event averages three days in duration with multiple exhibitions and technology demonstrations. Additionally, host International military partners 4-6 times annually. Each event is no longer than two days in duration. Events do not require after hours participation or hosting. Key tasks include:
    • Manage events from concept through completion
    • Serve as point of contact for event sponsors and industry supporters
    • Execute and prioritize many pre-event fulfillment requirements
    • Propose new ideas to refine and improve event execution
    • Interface with venues and vendors to obtain copies of proposals for local events.
    • Create event staffing schedules and evaluate event personnel needs
    • Track event project budgets, including venue F&B minimum and sleeping room guarantees
    • Assist in the preparation of meeting materials, including programs, nametags, marketing packages, registration lists, etc.
    • Create event layouts, timelines, and themes
    • Arrange on-site events for attendees
  • Track and confirm execution of annual training requirements. Communicate results with appropriate Army agencies. Implement improved operational measures and policies that promote efficiency.
  • Track and maintain changes in the RRD portfolio. Coordinate as directed with the Army G8 to maintain oversight of fluctuations and impact of Army funding to the Robotics portfolio.
  • Prepare briefings and supporting documentation for Strategic Portfolio Analysis and Review (SPAR), Program Objective Memorandum (POM), and Budget Deep Dive events.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DOD acquisition practices to include planning, coordinating and implementing capabilities-bases programs and supporting the acquisition of a variety of combat arms and robotics related equipment.
  • Knowledge of DOD robotics and autonomous systems/programs, applique and payloads.
  • Familiarity with enduring robotic technologies, artificial intelligence, levels of autonomy in unmanned systems and various smart materiel solutions.
  • Familiarity with the synergistic integration of mechanics, electronics, and computer technology for the production of enhanced products and systems
  • Knowledge of current and future unmanned ground and aerial robotic systems and applique, to include, but not limited to, associated doctrine, tactics and techniques of employment.
  • Ability to use a systems-based process in the development of required systems capabilities, ensuring the successful integration of robotic systems and platforms
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of specialized experience.
  • Strong business acumen demonstrated through analysis reports. Ability to complete the Combat Developer Level I Course.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other operational software.
  • Excellent communicator both orally and written.
  • Ability to obtain Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Capability Development Level 1 Certification within 6 months of start of the contract.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Exceptional writing skills and significant experience in briefing key leadership
  • Possess an in-depth and current understanding of relevant Army doctrine and tactics
  • Proficiency in the use of automatic data processing (ADP) equipment, and standard desktop publishing software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), as to prepare briefing materials
  • Self-starter who works well unsupervised.
