Director of Undergraduate Admissions

With a strong focus on creating an Admissions Office that effectively builds relationships with potential students, families and other influencers, the Director of Undergraduate Admissions will effectively lead the campus undergraduate recruitment and enrollment efforts of the University. The Director will ensure the University's Office of Admissions wholeheartedly embraces the department's quality standards of accuracy, engagement, hospitality, and efficiency to ensure every student has an excellent experience at each stage of the admissions process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Oversee the selection, onboarding, professional development, supervision and motivation of the admissions team; ensure that each member of the team clearly understands and can effectively communicate the University's value proposition to prospective students, families and other influencers.

• Assist the VP for Enrollment Management in determining annual enrollment goals - overall and by program and student population - and be a constant source of inspiration and motivation for achieving those goals

• Plan and measure the effectiveness of student recruitment strategies and activities, including but not limited to student search; college fair attendance, high school and on-campus visit programs; speed-to-lead initiatives; and partnerships with high schools, community colleges and other organizations

• Develop and manage a comprehensive onboarding and training program for the Admissions team

• Make real-time adjustments to recruitment strategies and practices to address potential recruitment-related shortfalls

• Oversee the University's Admissions-related campus guest program to ensure each visitor enjoys an excellent and memorable campus visit

• Monitor, maintain, and assess the effective use of the Admissions Office budget

• Oversee the development and dissemination of reports to monitor leading and lagging indicators for enrollment goals

• Collaborate with and serve as a liaison to all department deans/chairs, faculty, student life and marketing personnel to ensure the university community is working together to recruit Distinctive Mercy Graduates in accordance with stated enrollment goals

• Establish and administer all operational procedures for the Admissions Office

• Ensure Admissions Team has a clear pathway for strengthening High School and Community College partnerships and counselor relationships

• Develop and coordinate alumni, faculty and student recruitment networks, and serve as an engaging and motivational University ambassador at recruitment and other events

• Partner with Marketing on the development and effective use of marketing materials and communications tools to engage prospective students and their families throughout the entire recruitment process

Interview prospective students; review and maintain applicant files; make decisions and/or recommendations regarding student admissibility; determine merit scholarship eligibility and disseminate information to applicants and families, when needed

• Partner with the Office of Financial Aid to ensure the strategic use of all available financial aid resources while achieving pre-determined net revenue goals

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree required. Three to five years of successful College Admissions leadership required.

Technical Skills
Ability to use computer programs and reporting tools to retrieve and analyze data, troubleshoot systems-related challenges, and effectively partner with the IT department. Experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to manage the recruitment process is required.

Language Skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to organize multiple tasks.

Mathematical Skills
Excellent computation skills.

Interpersonal Skills
Ability to effectively lead, collaborate with, supervise, inspire and motivate members of the Admissions team, as well as work well with colleagues from all other University departments

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The University is situated on 314 beautiful acres close to a variety of shops and eateries and just a short ride away to the city excitement of Philadelphia.
