IT Service Desk Technician 

About the Organization J.F. Taylor, Inc. was founded as an engineering firm in 1983 by John F. Taylor, a retired Naval Aviation Officer and engineer. From our initial work in the testing of avionics equipment, we have continually leveraged our solid engineering foundation to get involved in systems engineering, software development, and the design and production of high fidelity training devices. More recently, our capabilities expanded to include the design, manufacture and fabrication of single prototypes and the high-volume production of aircraft and maritime kits and components.   • Provides first-line technical support to computer customers by phone, email, and at desk-side.
  • Opens, tracks, and closes trouble tickets; ensures problem ownership, escalates when necessary, and promotes end-user satisfaction.
  • Assists in testing, configuring, and deploying desktop, mobile, VoIP, printer, and scanner devices Performs desktop OS and network troubleshooting.
  • Performs A/V setup for projectors and presentations.
Position Requirements
  • Yrs. of Experience: 2 years minimum
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Proficiency in English
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
  • 100% onsite, no teleworking
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and move around to setup and troubleshoot hardware
  • Experience with call center management procedures and ticketing systems
  • Capable of working independently and within in a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered; ability to work with users of all technological skill levels throughout the hierarchy of the organization
  • Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain networked personal computers, peripherals, mobile devices, and end-user software.
  • Practical understanding and working knowledge of Windows 10, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and Reader, anti-malware software.


• CompTIA A+, Network+ Certification

• Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining end-user digital certificates.

• Bachelor's degree(Preferred); additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of

• Self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, flexibility, good judgment
and the ability to coordinate multiple, concurrent tasks in an effective manner

• Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.

• Ability to perform occasional night and weekend work.
