Summary of Duties
Under the direction of 2nd Shift Supervisor Exports, incumbent is responsible for processing and completing warehouse functions for the exportation of spare parts for aircraft support sold throughout the world. This position will be responsible for the accuracy of all parts picked, packed, and shipped to customers. Export Clerk will be responsible for the delegated inspection and assessment of all parts and related material being exported. Incumbent will ensure that all products shipped are in full compliance with Dassault Aviation and all applicable FAA regulations, will ensure that all proper documents required by U.S. Customs are shipped with parts and proper classifications are applied for parts shipped, to meet all regulatory requirements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Identifies, verifies and processes all parts and materials for export shipments utilizing on-line data processing system and in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Prepares documentation required by Federal Government Agencies to export parts, aircraft and manuals from the U.S.
- Coordinates the delivery of spare parts between Dassault Falcon Jet, Brokers, freight forwarders, freight carriers and U.S. Customs.
- Ensures all Export AOG orders are prepared and shipped in accordance with DFJ policy and procedures.
- Applies proper harmonized codes and prepares SLI for export orders to meet U.S. Customs requirements.
- Maintains export files in neat and orderly manner.
- Works closely with account reps,/ planners to ensure proper address for all export customers / vendors are set up properly in system.
- Responds to after hours support request as assigned to process and complete export shipments.
- Performs duties which include, but not limited to, processing orders, operating forklift and man-up equipment in a safe manner in accordance with company safety standards and procedures. Assists in the counting, storage and retrieval of material.
- Responsible for the accurate transmission of information to US customs for clearance of aircraft parts / aircraft into the US as required by US Customs
- Other duties may be assigned by management in order to meet department or business objective on an as needed basis, including assisting in the processing of import shipments via ABI
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Three years’ experience working knowledge with export shipments in warehouse environment
- Working knowledge of AES (Automated Export System), in the ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) portal.
- Working knowledge of software that prepares required documents in compliance export regulations.
- Knowledge of customs regulations and tariff classification.
- Knowledge of Bureau of Industry & Security Export Regulations.
- Intermediate level proficiency in the use of PC Windows business software (Microsoft Office preferred)
- Excellent math skills
- Experienced with computerized inventory control system
- Two years’ experience operating forklift
- Three years’ experience in warehouse environment
- Experienced in shipping of hazardous materials
- Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally, with both internal and external customers
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Importing and exporting procedures
- Familiar with civil aviation components
- College courses in materials or operational management
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Office and warehouse environment
- Use of personal computers required
- Provide rotating off hours export compliance support and warehouse functions.
- Ability to work standing for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
