Product Development Engineer (Remanufacturing)

This exciting opportunity is located in our Troy, MI office.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Work with advanced engineering teams to develop reman programs for commercial vehicle electronics & electro-mechanical devices
  • Reverse engineer, benchmark & document complex circuits & electro-mechanical devices.
  • Develop reclaim strategies for remanufactured products
  • Develop processes/tooling for teardown of core
  • Develop Assembly and test processes for remanufactured products
  • Create statements of work (SOW) and work with 3rd party suppliers to develop assemblies & test equipment
  • Good data analysis skill set (including proficiency in Microsoft Office) - data driven!
  • Good presentation & report out skills

Position Requirements

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Electromechanical or Science Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in design and/or manufacturing of electronics or electro-mechanical devices Solidworks / AutoCAD

Preferred qualifications

  • Have a solid background on fuel injector equipment (FIE)
  • Experience with engine subsystems and devices such as smart remote actuators (SRA), exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valves, electronic control units (ECU), control modules and solenoid controls using pulse-width modulation (PWM)
  • Mechanically inclined with hands on experience – not afraid of getting hands dirty!
  • Reverse engineering/ benchmark experience
  • Assembly and test process background
  • Design verification/Product validation (DV/PV) and prototype testing background
  • 1+ years with hands-on electronic experience
  • 1+ years of experience with the use of laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and function generators, soldering equipment
  • 1+ years of experience with LabVIEW, C++, or visual basic (VB)
