This position is responsible for accurate and timely recording of all transactions and production of financial reports, ensuring all processes are in accordance with recent accounting pronouncements, and developing relationships with other departments to support their financial activities. The Manager, Accounting will be a care taker of the Pirates Vision and Values and will be proactive in seeking out ways to exemplify them in his/her day-to-day work. Job Responsibilities Primary: Prepare monthly financial statements including all applicable journal entries and conduct monthly financial meetings with the departments to discuss any variances from budget and updated forecasts. Prepare and review quarterly financial statements for all other entities within Pittsburgh Baseball Partnership. Consolidate all entities within Pittsburgh Baseball Partnership and prepare any eliminating entries on a quarterly basis. Oversee other members of the accounting department, including but not limited to, the Staff Accountant and Ticket Accountant on a daily basis. Ensure that all work is being completed accurately and timely. Prepare and record seasonal revenue entries relating to ticket sales, including all related taxes, surcharges, and program related expenses. Prepare monthly concession commissions revenue and accrual journal entries per contracts with concessionaire. Review payroll ledger reports and prepare appropriate journal entries. Review journal entries prepared by Staff Accountant relating to all Florida and Dominican activities. Review and analyze Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Maintain updated schedules supporting Accounts Receivable/Payable details. Work with Manager of Accounts Payable to ensure all payables entries are being posted or accrued timely and accurately. Update and maintain fixed asset additions and depreciation schedules, including a budget variance analysis. Prepare year end accumulated depreciation entries. Work with Baseball Operations to maintain an updated schedule for Minor League Signing Bonus payments and amortization. Provide all necessary documents for the annual financial statement audit. Work with auditors to answer any questions and make appropriate adjustments. Review quarterly financial statements received from outside North Shore entities and prepare any relevant entries and financial statements. Understand and implement future changes in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles including Revenue Recognition and Operating Leases. All other duties as assigned by the Director. Secondary: Prepare, enter and pay amusement tax and SEA surcharge involved with ticketing, as well as other ticket related journal entries. Hire and supervise Accounting Intern. Work with Financial Analyst on annual budget preparation and quarterly forecast completions.   Position Requirements Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Minimum of 5 years accounting experience Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) Desired: Experience with sports accounting Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience CPA   Location Pittsburgh, PA   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Shift Days   This position is currently not accepting applications.
