Wyandot BHN is seeking a dedicated Communication Specialist. As the Communication Specialist, you will be responsible for creating compelling and engaging original content for internal and external audiences that builds positive awareness and reinforces the Wyandot BHN promise of healthy minds, healthy lives and a thriving community. You will contribute to WBHN success by planning and executing strategic communication plans that will educate, engage and inspire our staff, donors, community partners and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader who thrives in a growing, diverse, and fluid environment.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Develop an integrated internal and external communications/marketing plan with clear objectives and calendar of activities
  • Develop original content for internal audiences, including the Wyandot intranet, organizational announcements, employee meetings and presentations, videos, and print media
  • Create original content for external audiences, including public relations campaigns, organization website, fundraising campaigns, thought leadership, social media and print and digital communication platforms
  • Monitor and communicate communications results on a monthly basis, and assess outreach efforts to identify innovative ways to more effectively reach our target audiences
  • Develop and maintain strong internal relationships with front-line staff, managers, teams and Executive Directors to stay current on news and events, positive stories and organizational trends
  • Develop a deep understanding of the behavioral health landscape and be able to communicate with internal and external audiences
  • Understand emerging internal and external communications, marketing, and industry trends
  • Create, lead and manage special communications projects as needed
 
Position Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field
  • 3-5 years of internal/corporate communication experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience with internal/staff communications, including intranet development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Constant Contact, Salesforce, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and Drupal preferred
  • Experience creating original content from a variety of sources
  • Proven experience in the preparation and execution of measurable, results-oriented communications plans
  • Exceptional story writing and editing skills that apply to multiple, varied audiences
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently, as well as within a team

 
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Shift Days  
Hours Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evenings or weekends for events.
